Cameron Glenn grew up the third of seven children in Oregon. As a child he dedicated hours to the pursuits of basketball and cartooning, as well as waking up way too early for his paper route in order to earn money to buy toys, candy and comic books. He also loved to read and write, which he continues to do voraciously. He currently lives in Salt Lake City after having earned a BA in literature from Boise State.
Delano Farnsworth is one of the few ‘lucky unfortunates’ chosen to receive an invitation to the magical Camp Hollyhook. After he arrives, however, he quickly discovers that not is all as it seems. With his new camp friends the ‘quirky’ Jackie, the ‘dour’ Lenore and the ‘lonely’ Wheeze, Delano seeks to uncover the sinister true purpose of the camp, as well as learn about his missing parents who abandoned him when he was three, his kidnapped uncle as well as his own self and destiny.
What people are saying...
"This is a very energetic book told from the perspective of the main character, Delano, and how he sees his friends and the different journies they venture on. I personally really loved this book and think it was very well written, but every now and then there were a few punctuation and spelling errors. The author did a nice job of explaining the different parts of the story. He never rambled on, but gave you just enough details. One of my favorite characters other than Delano was Lenore, because even though she wasn't very positive, she still figured out a lot of the problems in the book.

"Delano in Hollyhook by Cameron Glenn is a young adult fantasy about the life of an orphan, Delano Farnsworth. Delano begged his uncle to tell him more about his parents, and one day Uncle Ted promised to tell Delano the truth. That day at school, a red metallic wasp stung him on the neck and made him feel sick and dizzy. When he arrived home, the bathroom mirror was replaced by a video screen that offered Delano a trip to a misfit camp. With Uncle Ted nowhere to be found, Delano arrives at this strange and magical summer camp, but quickly learns that there is a lot he doesn't know about the camp's true purpose. With the help of his new found friends, Delano sets out to unravel the mystery of his missing uncle and finally discover the truth about his parents.
This story is full of really cool events and exciting moments within the camp and the story itself. Readers are on a similar journey with Delano to discover the true mystery about Hollyhook. Being kept in the dark is a nice little twist that readers will enjoy, so that they are learning about the camp at the same time the characters are. I enjoyed the array of characters at camp, from quirky Jackie to lonely Wheeze and even the dour Lenore. The mystery was well written, the intrigue was there on every page, and readers won't be able to turn the pages fast enough to get to the final answers they crave."
