What people are saying...

"Legends of Green Isle: The Forgotten Spell is a magical adventure that takes you from early World War Two Earth to a parallel universe known as Green Isle. Matt and Toby move to Stewart Manor, a new house that is surrounded by mystery. Children have disappeared and soon Toby becomes one of the missing. Matt and his new friends begin a quest to search for the missing children and to stop an old, long forgotten enemy of Green Isle from covering the land in darkness once again.

This book follows Matt and his friends as they travel through a magic portal that has been guarded for a hundred years. Along with the portals guardians, they being a magical adventure, encountering a multitude of creatures both friendly and malicious. They meet new friends and together outwit evil forces to make their way to the Black Isle, where the missing children are being held and the evil force dwells. This is the first installment in the series.

Legends of Green Isle: The Forgotten Spell by Constance Wallace is an action-packed story that is a complete page turner. I couldn’t put it down! I was completely enraptured with the characters and with the plot. It is reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings, but has a distinct focus on children like many young adult fantasy series do. This story could easily be the daydream of any kid who has ever wanted to save the world from magical forces. What I love the most about this book is the relatability to this audience. The author uses language that is understandable to the target audience, but does so in a way that draws the reader in and makes you feel like you are alongside the main characters on the quest.

The only thing I did not like about this book was the presence of spelling and grammatical errors. This book definitely needs another round of editing, but the errors were not enough to take away from the story. They are noticeable, but not detrimentally distracting to the reader.

I rate this book four out of four stars. The book was absolutely magical. I could not help but feel like I was a part of the adventure. I cannot wait to read the sequels and to find out what happens to Matt and his friends. This book will appeal to readers who have enjoyed book series such as Eragon, Artemis Fowl, and other fiction/fantasy book series. This book is definitely geared to young adults and teenagers, but adults will enjoy the book just as well."
