If you’re an educator, you know how hard it is to find the time to review student data. Fortunately, there are several ways to access this information in an easily accessible spreadsheet format. sgpData, the SGP data set available for all public schools in the United States, provides an excellent resource for educators to compare students and track student growth over time.

sgpData is an Excel spreadsheet file that contains student performance results from the state’s Star assessments for each individual student in a given school year. The file also includes a range of other demographic and student categorization variables. The first column in the spreadsheet, ID, gives each student a unique identifier. The following five columns, SS_2013, SS_2014, SS_2015, SS_2016, and SS_2017, provide the assessment scores for the student in each of the past five years. The last two columns, SS_AchievementLevel and SS_SGP, show the student’s assessment scale score for that year.

The sgpData data set is updated annually to reflect the most recent assessment results. Each new version of the sgpData file includes a number of additional demographic and student categorization variables that help teachers identify and analyze trends in student performance. The sgpData data sets can be sorted by a variety of criteria, making it easy to quickly pinpoint areas for improvement.

One of the most valuable uses of data sgp is in teacher evaluation systems. Teachers can use the sgpData spreadsheet to view student growth over time, and the spreadsheet allows them to compare that growth to the growth of academic peers nationwide who have a similar achievement history. This makes it easy to assess a teacher’s effectiveness based on how much their students have improved in comparison to their peers, which is a more accurate measure of teacher impact.

Data sgp is also used by scientists to better understand climate processes. For example, the ARM instrument data sgp is used in large-eddy simulation models that simulate atmospheric air currents and cloud processes. These models can then be used to improve Earth’s climate models.

sgpData is available in both WIDE and LONG formats. However, most analyses require the higher level functions in the SGP package that are designed to work with the LONG format. Using LONG formatted data is recommended if you plan to run your SGP analyses operationally year after year.

In order to download the sgpData data set, please visit the sgpData website. You will need to log in using your credentials to access the data. Once you have logged in, you will be able to select the year you would like to download. Once the sgpData data is downloaded, you can import it into your preferred spreadsheet program. From there, you can start analyzing your data. You can even create charts to visualize your results. Just make sure you are importing the correct version of sgpData for your year of interest.
